I’m just back from ten days in Norfolk visiting James’ family on the coast. Despite the forecast looking mostly sunny for the time we’d be away, you never quite know! So I packed as I usually do for our time there, which is always quite literally, be a mixed bag.

I never know which version of myself I’m packing for. There’s the South of France chic woman vibe I often play to — stripes, casual tailored trousers, white plimsolls, basket bag — and then there’s the 90s California skate vibe I sometimes lean into — oversized layers, relaxed trousers, flip flops and a need to be comfortable.

Really, the Norfolk wardrobe is a mash-up of both. I want to be able to go on long walks, stop off at the pub, get sandy and windswept, sit down for a leisurely lunch and not spend the entire day thinking about whether my outfit is appropriate for any of it.

That doesn’t mean boring though. I’ve been thinking about how to make everyday outfits feel a little fresher without being overly styled. For me, that’s meant pops of colour, Breton stripes (when in Norfolk after all) and plenty of good basics.

So, with that in mind, here’s what made it into my suitcase…

UNIQLO Oversized Crew-Neck T-Shirt / Alex Eagle ‘Arundel’ Chino Trousers / Amazon Textured Flip Flops / Phoebe Philo Peak Sunglasses
